I wasn’t prepared for how vast Poppit Sands feels. Golden sand stretches forever, framed by dunes and a cheeky Blue Flag fluttering as if to say, “Yes, we’re the real deal.” My dog tore about like he’d discovered heaven, while I just stood grinning at the space and the sea air. Families played, walkers wandered, and there was still room to breathe. It’s Pembrokeshire at its best—wild yet welcoming. I’ll be back, without a doubt.
Barafundle Bay is just beautiful, quiet, unspoilt and worth every step of the walk to get there. Soft sand, clear water and a real sense of peace. There’s nothing on the beach itself, which makes it feel even more special, but you can always grab a drink or bite at the little café back at the Stackpole Quay car park. A proper Pembrokeshire gem I’ll never get tired of.
